Bombay Talkies- Pure Veg
Welcome to Bombay Talkies - Pure Veg, a delightful vegetarian haven nestled in the heart of London at 33 Boswell Street, WC1N 3BP. If you're searching for an authentic taste of India, this charming café offers a menu brimming with rich flavors and vibrant ingredients, all expertly crafted to celebrate the essence of vegetarian cuisine.
As a food reviewer, I am constantly in pursuit of culinary gems that deliver not only on taste but also on creativity and authenticity. Bombay Talkies certainly does not disappoint. The restaurant bursts with a variety of starters, such as the Vada Pav, a fried potato dumpling nestled in a soft bun, and the crunchy Chilli Milli Paneer, which introduces an exciting twist to classic Indian street foods. The Potato and Onion Pakora is also a must-try, offering a crispy texture and comforting flavor that feels like home.
- Daal & Curries: Dive into the rich and creamy Butter Paneer, a standout in the dal and curry category. Its perfect balance of spices and creaminess will have you savoring each bite. The Tadka Daal is another highlight, celebrated for its simplicity yet depth of flavor.
- Rice & Breads: Complement your meal with their Mix Vegetable Pulao or the aromatic Ziera Tadka Rice. The soft and fresh Garlic Naan perfectly embraces the rich gravies.
- Sweets & Desserts: Do not miss out on the sweet endings here! Indulge in the soft, delightful Gulab Jamun or the creamy Ras Malai, both of which encapsulate the beautiful traditions of Indian desserts.
During my visit, I truly appreciated the inviting atmosphere of Bombay Talkies. It marries modern effortlessness with tradition, creating a comfortable dining space that encourages both intimate dinners and vibrant meet-ups. Customer reviews reflect a consistent satisfaction—Neil Shapiro noted the deliciousness of dishes like Baingan Bharta and Garlic Naan, while another guest praised the cozy environment, despite some service hiccups.
Moreover, the café is currently running a fantastic promotion: enjoy a complimentary Chocomel Chocolate Drink with any purchase over £15. It’s an enticing offer that perfectly complements the meal, and is bound to satisfy any sweet tooth.
In conclusion, Bombay Talkies - Pure Veg stands out as a must-visit for vegetarian food enthusiasts in London. Whether you're a local or a traveler, this café promises not just a meal, but a celebration of traditional Indian flavors. Grab your friends or family and revel in the delightful options they have to offer!

Very good food. We had baingan barta, and another Indian cheese dish, garlic nan, and a Cobra beer on tap. All very good. Atmosphere was nice but there was a constant high-pitched oscillating noise that bothered me, perhaps from a fan?Vegetarian options: Restaurant is vegetarian.

Namaste Holborn is a really good place for people who eat vegan and vegetarian food. The small dishes and starters are tasty, especially the paneer palak. This dish is super tasty and makes you want to come back for more. The restaurant looks nice inside, mixing old and new styles. But, you might need to wait a bit because they are not always quick to serve. One of the waiters was not very friendly too and was a bit rude.Even with these issues, Namaste Holborn is still a great place to eat. If you like vegetarian food and don't mind waiting a bit, you should give it a try!Vegetarian options: The entire menu is vegetarian, and has many vegan options too

Lovely, quiet, and cosy place, almost hidden, easy to miss, but % worthy of visiting. % vegan and vegetarian, offering a lovely menu, with a balanced variety of dishes. Everything was delicious, portions were well served, dinner for was shared: coconut rice (absolutely delicious), paneer korma, and chickpeas. It was unfortunate they were short on desserts, which I was very keen to try, but only gulab jamun was available. Mango lassi is also very good and recommended. Between £ to £ per person. Definitely recommend it and will try to come back!

Scam: Overcharged me by %, did not refund. This unacceptable incident leaves me no other option but to leave a bad review.Full story:Ordered online for in-person pick-up. Once there. The waiter cancelled my order, blaming a system error, and input the order again. I noticed that the bill was missing the % online discount (see image) and asked the waiter to refund me the difference but he refused. He instead offered me "free" milkshakes which did not satisfy me but still I agreed to be nice to him. But then I also noticed that each line item were overpriced compared to the online prices (see image). I explained to him that the system error is not my problem, not his fault, but that the reasonable solution would be to honor the agreed upon online price. He also refused to refund me the difference. At this point I refused the milkshakes, which I did not want in the first place and told him it's the $ refund (just the difference) or a bad review. He chose the bad review and also refused to give me his name so I guess the manager will have to check the schedule for Monday evening Jan th.To resolve this incident, I offer to remove this bad review if you refund me the full price of the meal.If you still see this review, beware. This restaurant scams customers.
